At the invitation of the Ministry of Tourism of Bulgaria, journalists of the international magazine “Kyiv Diplomatic” spent almost two weeks travelling through historic and modern Bulgaria. Accompanied by our charming guide, Ina Tonina, we had the privilege of discovering the country’s remarkable history, culture and contemporary life.
During our visit to the ancient area of Pliska, we were delighted by an unexpected encounter with His Excellency Mr Krasimir Minchev, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Bulgaria to Ukraine from 2012 to 2018.
Together with Ambassador Minchev, we visited a unique complex — the “Old Pliska” inn, which forms part of the historical and cultural complex “The Courtyard of the Cyrillic Alphabet”, located near the historical reserve of Pliska, the first capital of the Bulgarian Empire.
This memorable encounter became one of those special moments of the journey that remain in one’s heart and, with time, become cherished memories of a remarkable journalistic adventure.
