Today, India celebrates the 80th anniversary of its Independence.
Traditionally, every year on this festive morning, the National Flag of India is ceremonially hoisted over the Residence of the Ambassador of India to Ukraine, while rose petals in three colours, symbolising the colours of the Indian flag, gently fall onto the green lawn where the guests have gathered.
Having kindly been invited to attend the ceremony, I had the honour of being personally present at the celebrations and, on behalf of the editorial team of Kyiv Diplomatic Magazine, to congratulate the newly appointed Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of India to Ukraine, His Excellency Mr Anjani Kumar, on India’s National Day — the 80th Anniversary of Independence.
